Tree of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima) is an invasive tree species which is rapidly spreading throughout Southern England and Midlands. It a very damaging species both to the built environment and also to the wider environment. The tree spreads through seeds, suckering and by fly tipping and rapidly grows and can dominate an area very quickly. Tree of Heaven is listed within the Invasive Alien Species (Environment and Permitting) Order (2019), as such it is strongly recommended that suitable control measures are put in place to ensure that the plant does not spread from site.
