Taylands provides services relating to the invasive plant sector as well as other problematic plants. These would include Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed, Himalayan Balsam, Field Horsetail, invasive bamboos, invasive trees, shrubs and climbers as well as other invasive plants.

We offer full services to the commercial sector, the construction industry, public sector organisations, Housing Associations, and also other organisations. The services that we can offer include (but are not limited to) consultancy, knotweed management plans, site surveys, watching briefs, managing invasive plant works on construction sites for contractors, including liaising with statutory bodies such as the Environment Agency or Natural Resources Wales.

Many invasive plants are either covered by Schedule 9 of The Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) or included in the Invasive Alien Species (Enforcement and Permitting) Order (2019), however some plants are not so covered, but may still cause issues on site - e.g. invasive bamboos, Field Horsetail, Himalayan knotweed and occasionally other plants. Correct identification of these plants is required, as the legal status often determines the waste category and potential management options. In a number of recent surveys, we have seen incorrect identification of plants on a development site, which could have led to significant costs in remediating the site. Our Director has attended site, correctly identified the plant, determined the legal status and so has been able to guide the client in the most appropriate remediation method - saving significant sums of money for the client.
